Makin' Whoopie...

i have seriously been in a baking mood these past few days. i'm not really sure why i am wanting to bake all the time because jake and i both are doing weight watchers (and pretty well might i add). luckily, we have lots of college guys around that will come over and eat whatever it is that i make. monday, i made (and decorated) a cake. it wasn't the prettiest thing i've ever seen but i was decently proud about it. last night i made reverse chocolate chip cookies, and they were pretty delish. today though....i made heart shaped red velvet whoopie pies. i got the idea from pizzazzerie. they were lots of fun to make and i took lots of pictures to make you all want to come over and let me bake you something. :)

they look a little bit like poop shaped into a heart. but...i think they are still cute :)
heres the recipe for those who might want to try it. the cream cheese frosting in the middle is the best!

Goonies never say die!

Hello Friends...I'm just sitting in my nice comfy apartment watching the goonies with some of my favorite folks. I know I said I was going to start doing this blog thing...but I just haven't kept up with it very well now have I? I guess it will be one of my many new years resolutions....

Today I have something fun. A CRAFT! I found this fun project over at Craftaholics Anonymous and I just had to do it.

i started with a gold frame that i found at the thrift store for 75 cents. i painted it with some off white acrylic paint i had sitting around the house...

then, i went into my closet and found some old shirts that i don't wear anymore.

i cut up the tshirts (from the armpit down) into 1/2 inch strips and wrapped it around some cardboard that i cut into a 'c' shape

and ta daa!!!

a fun door decoration :)

hopefully it won't be another 3 months before i do this again.
well. live long and prosper, friends.

buongiorno.

So, I decided to venture out into the wonderful land of blogging! I'm not sure what exactly I will do with this...but I'm sure there will be lots of crafts, thrift store finds and some fun family adventures involved!

I can't believe I am only two days away from my one year wedding anniversary! I am so thankful for my silly, star wars lovin' best friend. I mean, seriously....he's pretty awesome. We just got back from a four day trip to Gatlinburg and let me tell you, I seriously did not want to leave. We had so much fun being silly and doing fun stuff (I actually played my first game of laser tag ever!). I definitely think that one of my favorite parts about being married is going on little trips together. I especially love the planning part of it :)

I hope that somebody will read and maybe even enjoy reading something I might have to say on here!

love.
